Audit of the old website

DoneStarting point

Before changing anything, we measured the old tvmountingus.com: one page, 457 words and an overall score of 61 out of 100.

What we did

  • Checked the old site the way three visitors see it: Google, AI assistants like ChatGPT, and a customer on a phone.
  • Measured speed, search basics, accessibility and how much there is to read.
  • Saved a full copy of the old site with screenshots, so every later change can be compared with where we started.

What we found

What was costing you customers

  • Google was told the wrong address. The business record inside the site pointed to another domain, rrtvmounting.com.
  • Google had to guess. No sitemap, and the same home page opened under three different addresses.
  • Reviews were pictures. 45 great reviews that Google could not read.
  • One page for everything. Nothing could appear in search for "fireplace TV mounting" or "TV mounting Evanston" — there was no page about it.
  • The form asked for a name and a phone only. TV size, wall type and fireplace had to be found out by text, and nothing recorded which ad or search the customer came from.
